judgement-daycopy.jpgJoin us this week as we finally have back on the show author and international speaker S.J. Hill.  He joins Dave Edwards and Steve Bremner as we talk about judgment again (it's been a couple of years so if you haven't heard those ones, check them out in our archive with SJ here).

We tried to discuss and answer some of the following questions: Does God really send disasters and calamities to cities and nations in order to teach its people lessons?  If so, does it work?  Does a ‘rapture mentality’ produce a people interested in what happens in the earth during their generation?  Does the Church have way too pessimistic of an outlook when it comes to God’s involvement in the earth today? Does the Church embrace too much fatalism when it comes to dealing with every day events and natural disasters as they happen around the world?

How Is The Church specifically, and the culture in general, supposed to deal with ‘doom and gloom prophets whose ‘prophecies’ don’t come to pass?  No, we’re not talking about fringe groups but ones who are more mainstream and accepted in both evangelical and charismatic circles.

Don't miss it!  And don't forget to visit SJ's site at http://www.sjhillonline.com and his new podcast over at http://www.enjoyinggodpodcast.com/

plugged_in2.jpgThis week we've got on Fire On Your Head two previous guests, together on the same show.  Too much podcast for one podcast, if you ask me.  Join us as FIRE School teacher, Brian Parkman, and evangelist Joel Crumpton and Steve Bremner discuss some issues related to faith, healing, and receiving from God, and how we have the sure written word of faith and don't need special "rhema words" from God about every decision we make.

Joel and Brian both share things they claim took them over twenty years to learn that they wish they knew earlier.  What are those things?  Listen to find out

past-present-future-smallsign1.jpgJoin us this week as Brian Parkman, Dave Edwards and Steve Bremner discuss who we are in Christ, and just what kinds of things were accomplished at the cross that are now ours to walk out.  You might want to listen to this one over a few times, as we cover lots of good points and Scriptures, and seek to help each other understand we don't need to twist God's arm in prayer to do certain things.  You will find this to be a very refreshing conversation.  Enjoy!

discipleship.jpgThis week we change gears again and interview Mark Burgess.  Mark and his wife Anna and kids have been living in Peru for a few years now, and currently are responsible for upwards of 70 people actively being discipled in their cell churches in Chorillios, located on the Pacific coast of Peru.  We talk about what it is to be making disciples and building missional communities, and why the Great Commission is not just a call to make converts, but disciples.

Are you multiplying yourself into other people?  What about those who you call ‘disciples’? Are you actually discipling others or keeping them at a distance, teaching them with words or studies, but unwilling to allow them access to you?

This week we cover the purpose of speaking and praying in tongues, and why you don't want to miss out on this as just "one" of many Spiritual gifts.  We also discuss the nature of personal edification, and corporate prophesying.

Join us and subscribe, as this is the first half of our interview/discussion with Brian, to be concluded next week.

baptism-of-holy-spirit.jpgThis week Dave and Steve try to cover the subject of speaking in tongues, but this time from the angle of asking specifically if it’s the one true initial evidence of receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.  Steve says yes, always, while Dave says almost always, and we take it from there basically.

We cover the usual passages this topic elicits, and look today in depth at Acts chapters 2, 8, 10, 15, and 19 mostly and had little time for much else, so it might be a topic we revisit in the near future, and spend a little bit of time in 1 Corinthians 14.

What does “do all speak in tongues” mentioned in passing in 1 Cor 12:30 refer to? Are all tongues created equal?  Does the Bible really say that one needs an interpreter every time they speak in tongues?

TreeThis week Dave Edwards and Steve Bremner sit down to talk about something burning in our hearts, but wind up having a spontaneous discussion on idolatry, and what that looks like in our society culture.

Do you have anything you're setting up in your life "beside" or "near" the altar of God that is taking up your focus and time, in actuality AWAY from God?  Do you have any seemingly holy and right ingredients you're adding TO the Gospel's power in your life, that are actually evil and subverting the role of the Holy Spirit in your life?

If you aren't sure, and want to know how you can discern your spiritual condition, listen to this discussion and get challenged and encouraged.

roosting_cranes_b.jpgJoin us for the latest episode where Dave Edwards and Steve Bremner continue discussing the supernatural, and God's greatness.  Do you know how great you were destined to be?  Once you become a believer, is your heart still 'deceitfully wicked' in God's eyes?

Also, we discuss some feedback we've received and follow up on some years' old podcasts that we felt needed to be addressed in light of developments since that time.  What are we referring to?  Listen and find out!  This week's intro: Heaven by Jars of Clay

2unknownname.jpgThis week Dave and Steve banter about all sorts of things today, but mostly we stick to healing, the prophetic, dreams, and the difference between an eternal mindset versus a linear mindset. How clean do you need to be before you’re ready for a bath? Does repentance of sins need to happen first before healing can take place?  We also practice some spontaneous operating in the spiritual gifts and publicly share and interpret an interesting dream.  Don't miss this week's podcast!

Fastingdesert.jpgSince many people make New Year's resolutions that involve weight loss or spiritual disciplines to fast more, we thought we'd tackle the subject of fasting.  Join us this week as David Edwards and Steve Bremner continue their series on unpopular subjects in the body of Christ:

Is it really beneficial or even necessary for the believer in the New Covenant?  What is true fasting? Do we have any commands in the New Testament that we're to fast, or was that part of Jewish culture?  Is it about abstaining from only food, or other things?  In what situation did Jesus say "this kind only goes out by prayer and fasting?"  You may be surprised, so join us in what is going to be the first in at least two parts on the subject.  This week's intro, "Fire To My Soul" by Demon Hunter.

AquaFire-954839.jpgWhat is prophetic, or repentant thinking?  Join us in the second part of this discussion, as David Edwards and Steve Bremner continue their series on repentance and Holy Spirit mind renewal.  We share some thoughts on bringing heaven to earth and understanding our place in Christ, and learning where we are seated (in the heavenlies).  We had a relatively spontaneous conversation, and are pleasantly surprised at the direction the Holy Spirit took us in this time.  Check it out!  This week's intro: It's Beautiful (Once You're Out Here) by Stavesacre.

repentance.jpgThis week, join David Edwards and Steve Bremner as we discuss the crucial role of repentance in the normal Christian life.  What is it?  Is there more to repenting than just feeling sorry for sin?  Is there such a thing as pre-meditated repentance?  Also, are you personally aware of what are the following verses surrounding the context of John 3:16--the most quote verse in the New Testament?  If you're not familiar with your Bible, then you don't want to miss this episode, as this week we plow through numerous Scripture passages and give you a good edifying and challenging Bible study on the subject matter.  This week's intro: Going Under, by This Beautiful Republic.
