judgement-daycopy.jpgJoin us this week as we finally have back on the show author and international speaker S.J. Hill.  He joins Dave Edwards and Steve Bremner as we talk about judgment again (it's been a couple of years so if you haven't heard those ones, check them out in our archive with SJ here).

We tried to discuss and answer some of the following questions: Does God really send disasters and calamities to cities and nations in order to teach its people lessons?  If so, does it work?  Does a ‘rapture mentality’ produce a people interested in what happens in the earth during their generation?  Does the Church have way too pessimistic of an outlook when it comes to God’s involvement in the earth today? Does the Church embrace too much fatalism when it comes to dealing with every day events and natural disasters as they happen around the world?

How Is The Church specifically, and the culture in general, supposed to deal with ‘doom and gloom prophets whose ‘prophecies’ don’t come to pass?  No, we’re not talking about fringe groups but ones who are more mainstream and accepted in both evangelical and charismatic circles.

Don't miss it!  And don't forget to visit SJ's site at http://www.sjhillonline.com and his new podcast over at http://www.enjoyinggodpodcast.com/

sacredcow0qz9.jpgThis week we're privileged to have back on the podcast author and speaker S.J. Hill, and world traveler Gregg Montella for some serious sacred cow killing.

What is the difference between fearing God and being afraid of Him?  Do accountability relationships/groups really produce desired results, such as holiness?  What does the Bible really mean when it teaches about 'death to self'?

Make sure to listen to this podcast, and if you're struggling with overcoming habitual sin, then you definitely don't want to miss out on this one.  Don't forget to check out SJ's site: http://www.sjhill.com

fool.jpgFinally, a new episode is up!  It's been a crazy summer--or winter here in Peru!  We have S.J. Hill today talking about Romans 14 and First Corinthians 9--not judging one another over personal preferences in our walks with God, AND giving up things when we know we're a stumbling block to others.  S.J. shares some humorous and yet sad examples of what some of our 'convictions'  do to others when we put them on others when the Holy Spirit is not dealing with them in that area.  What is the difference between a conviction and a preference?  How do we have grace with and for others who may not share our personal convictions?  All in all, an important topic, and a must listen.

5819American-Eagle-and-Flag-II-Posters.jpgWe continue with part three in our series on God's judgment.  This part of the conversation, author and speaker SJ Hill, Dan Slavin and Steve Bremner talk about if modern day prophets are really right in assessing that God has or hasn't decreed judgment on America.  Has the Barack Obama presidency signaled the beginning of the end for America, and the world?  Or are the ones 'prophesying' these kinds of things speaking out of frustration and disappointment, but void of God's prophetic word?  Can we have any hope, or just expect things to get worse and worse for the Church?

Malus_Ex_Machina_by_Bosshamster.jpgThis week Dan Slavin & Steve Bremner continue with part two of our series with S.J. Hill on judgment.  How come God saw fit to destroy the earth with a flood?  Or scatter mankind and give them new languages at the tower of Babel?  How can we reconcile a deity in the Old Testament who wiped out Sodom and Gomorrah, and had His people destroy all the women and children in some cities, with the loving Christ of the New Testament?  We continue asking tough questions, and bring up the subject of the Nephilim in Genesis 6.

179926afHE_w.jpgThis week we are privileged to have author and itinerant speaker S.J. Hill back on the show, to discuss the taboo subject of God’s judgment.  Does our understanding of judgment come from an Old Testament understanding of God’s dealings with His people?  What is God’s holy jealousy?   Does God send hurricanes to wicked cities?  Is God temperamental with His creation, His followers, and the wicked?

Join us this week as we admittedly don't have all the answers, but have a great discussion talking about these things with the lens of God's ultimate character trait- agape.
