Becoming a People of The Spirit

This is the eighth, and last session we had with Bob Gladstone at this past Fire For Life Summer School. That night Mr. Gladstone gave a teaching on various different ways The Church can align itself with the Spirit of God, both corporately and in our individual lives. Included is the time of prayer and giving of prophetic words at the end by some of those in attendance.

Dan & Steve are finally back after a bit of a needed hiatus. This week begin a multiple part series on the topic of holiness. Is it even possible to live a holy, victorious and overcoming life, or are we always going to be bound to the sin that ensnares us? Is holiness the same thing as legalism? Can the believer still live however he/she wants, because sin has been covered by the blood of Christ? Is it possible or even likely to expect overnight change in the life of a new believer? “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14). It’s a common catch-phrase used in many charismatic circles, but is the way “being led by the Spirit” commonly taught really biblical? What is the difference between being led by the Holy Spirit, and having the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16), or being a doer of the Word (James 1:22)?

Do we really have the freedom to ignore the Old Testament because “we’re not under the law but under grace?” Or is everything written in the Old Testament to be heeded with no ifs ands or buts? Was Paul’s thorn in the flesh really a disease and if so/not, what does it matter? Grab your Bible and a pitchfork and get ready to slaughter a couple of cows with us. MOO.
