Episode 41: Do Politics & Christianity Mix?

Posted by Steve Bremner on 19th April 2009

church_state1.jpgThis week, Steve finally brings you brief updates about life and ministry in Peru and what to expect on the podcast in the near future.

The discussion this week: politics.  What role is Christianity to play in our culture in terms of government?  Does the Bible actually say anything about voting or not voting?  What about Christians who vote favorably for candidates who hold to unbiblical values and campaign platforms?  What is ‘separation of church and state’?  Are believers to enter politics as a way of legislating morality, and the Gospel?  How exactly are we called to make change in this world?  Is the Church supposed to be changing society, or is the government?

This week’s intro: “Politicians” by Switchfoot

Today we just hash out some thoughts with Shawn Landis on the subject, which is one he burns with.  Visit his blog at http://shawnman.blogspot.com/

Q & A with Jerome Ocampo

Posted by Steve Bremner on 19th July 2008

This is a recording of our last morning session with Jerome at the Fire For Life Summer School last year.  It was questions and answers, and many different things were brought up and this mp3 is worth listening to if you weren’t there that morning, especially if you’re motivated to prayer for the nation on 08.08.08 in the Hague–and seeing a Jesus Revolution in our generation. Don’t forget to register for this year’s summer school, August 1st - 10th.

8 Things The Church Could Learn

Posted by Steve Bremner on 22nd March 2008

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us A message Dr. Michael L.Brown, president of FIRE School of Ministry, and director of The Coalition of Conscience preached at the FIRE For Life Summer School 2007 in Holland on eight things The Church could learn about changing society by looking at how homosexual activists have done it. The G.L.B.T. movement has brought about radical change in society without the Holy Spirit. Imagine what the Body of Christ could do if we were unified as believers to bring about a Jesus Revolution.

Not Ashamed

Posted by Steve Bremner on 7th January 2008

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us I highly encourage listening to this message. “For what can a man give in return for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” Mark 8:37-38.

If they persecuted the teacher, they will do so with the pupil. In an age where ‘pride’ is associated with homosexual lifestyle, why are many Christians living as though they are in the closet with the Gospel?

Join us for a revolutionary message by Dr. Michael L. Brown from the 2006 FIRE For Life Summer School. We are in a dangerous place when we’re trying to make the world ‘like us’ instead of being a light in a dark place and living out the Gospel message.

See It, Hear It, Do It, Now

Posted by Steve Bremner on 30th November 2007

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us You can’t do what you can’t see; if you can’t see God’s destiny for the nation, then you can’t do it. If you don’t have it in you to see the houses, furniture, and works of art in the wood in the forest, then you will not have the energy to harvest the wood. Listen as Jerome Ocampo inspires vision and focus towards seeing this generation bring radical revival and revolution to Holland, Europe, and beyond. It’s possible–can you see it?

Understanding This Generation

Posted by Steve Bremner on 29th October 2007

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Jerome Ocampo shares at one of the FIRE For Life summer school sessions about how if we don’t win this generation, then we’ve lost the whole battle altogether. It is now or never, and since most than half of this earth’s population is under the age of 25 it’s important we know how to reach this group. Pastor Jerome gives answers as to how to understand the digital generation, their characteristics and what our corresponding response should be.
